EU: Farah Mihlar discusses what difficulties minorities and indigenous peoples face when doing advocacy

Alternative content

This is a recording from the Minority Voices conference, held in Budapest in May 2010.

In this recording:

MRG’s Farah Mihlar is talking about what difficulties minorities and indigenous peoples face when doing advocacy: minorities live far away from the cities where EU in-country delegations are settled, their capacity is lower compared to national organisations and moreover, their life can be threatened in conflict areas if they do advocacy. Can minorities act as united despite their diversity and multitude of voices? Farah also talks about how the EC’s economic links with Sri Lanka affected the country’s human rights performance during the civil war.
